Older pianos are, of course, more apt to require repair through a lot of these are just reasonable wear & tear, like replacing the brakes or tires on your car. Proper repair techniques are essential to maintain both the value and longevity of your instrument.

Most piano repair work can be done on-sight. Some repairs require us to remove keys, the assembly, or the entire action to bring to the shop. This usually involves much more extensive repair work or even minor rebuilding. Ken sets a high standard for all piano repairs and strives to exceed your expectations. He took great care with an old upright that hadn't been tuned in 23 years and got it back on the road to being a vibrant, playable instrument again. We still have some more repair work to do, but so far we're really pleased with his efforts.

I reached out to Ken to have my recently gifted Sohmer Baby Grand tuned. The piano is well over 100 years old and who knows when it was last tuned. Ken was friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable. He explained the inner workings of the piano and we discussed tuning to 440 vs. relative tuning due to the age of my piano. I'm a musician so we also had time to chat about music in general. Ken's prices are very reasonable and I highly recommend him for all your piano tuning/repair needs.

I inherited a piano that had not been played or tuned in some 50 years, but is in excellent condition with no obvious repairs needed. Ken scheduled an appointment for the next day ( a well-timed cancellation), arrived promptly, and finished the tuning quickly. He was pleasant and professional. I plan to call him again in a few weeks for a follow-up tuning and thereafter as needed.
